The privileged location of Salinas de Sin is perfect to get from here to the mountain valleys of the upper valley of the Cinca, home to two of the most important natural areas of the Aragonese Pyrenees: Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park from Pineta Valley, and Posets-Maladeta Natural Park from Gistaín Valley.
The villages of Boltaña, Aínsa, Bielsa and Tella are very close to Salinas, as well as those of Chistau Valley: Plan, San Juan de Plan, Gistain and Saravillo. These little villages are of incredible beauty that still maintain their ancient cuisine as well as their traditions. Going for a walk through its cobbled streets and wandering through the most remote corners is a real pleasure.
You just have to contemplate nature, smell it, touch it, feel it and... let yourself get carried away by the incredible beauty of the surroundings.

Only 10 km away from Aínsa is Escalona, from where you will enter Añisclo valley Añisclo found inside Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park. It has an impressive canyon that opens like a huge crack on the Bellos river. The landscape is breathtaking, and on foot from San Urbez bridge you can get into the valley to Fon Blanca waterfall.
From Escalona can also access the Vió valley, where you can visit hamlets such as Buerba, Nerín or Puyarruego, all so charming. The Puértolas and Escuaín valleys, with their gorges that can be seen from different viewpoints, are worth visiting for their beautiful landscapes and little villages.

The hamlet of Tella and its environment have magnificent views over Sierra de las Sucas, Punta Suelza, Cotiella, Peña Montañesa.... And there is also a Neolithic dolmen, a museum on ethnology and beliefs (mainly on Witches), and a tourist information office.
After Tella and before getting to the hamlet of Revilla you can find some beautiful viewpoints.

Located in the heart of the Pyrenees, in the north-east area of the Aragonese Pyrenees, Posets-Maladeta Natural Park gets its name from the two highest massifs of the Pyrenees.
Within the protected area you will also find the summits of Culfreda, Bachimala, Bagüeñola, Perdiguero and Ballibierna, all together forming the largest number of protected mountains of the Pyrenees of more than 3000 metres of altitude.
This interesting area is located in the north part of Chistau Valley and covers an area of over 33,000 hectares. It has an impressive group of 13 glaciers, 95 mountain lakes of glacial origin and waterfalls of great beauty. |

This Park includes the municipalities of San Juan de Plan and Gistaín (in Chistau Valley) and Sahún, Benasque and Montanuy (in Benasque Valley).

Bielsa, a typical village of the Pyrenees, is famous for its original carnivals. As well as going for a peaceful walk through the typical high mountain streets, you can visit the Ethnological Museum located on the ground floor of Town Hall, a Renaissance building built in the sixteenth century. The museum opened in 1982 and shows the traditional culture of Bielsa Valley through its ethnological collection.
In 1989 the rooms were enlarged to fit all the photographic and literature material donated by various institutions and individuals, and finally the original structure of the village and its everyday life before the civil war were reconstructed, as well as the war episode known as “La Bolsa de Bielsa”. |

The ethnology rooms show recreations of the various activities of daily life, and the characteristic clothing of the Carnival of Bielsa.
From Bielsa you can get to Pineta Valley, gateway to Ordesa National Park.
The profile of the valley, "U" shaped, with green meadows surrounded by vertical mountainsides crowned by the mountains of Sierra de las Sucas, Las Tres Marías, Las Tres Sorores and Monte Perdido at the back, result in a truly surprising view. You can hike to the waterfalls, to the plains of La Larri, to the Ice Lake of Marboré....
Those who love the snow can go cross-country skiing in Pineta Valley. |

Where the rivers Cinca and Ara meet is the village of Ainsa, a medieval village of extraordinary beauty that was declared historic monument in the late sixties.
It has a beautiful large square full of arcades, cobblestone streets that maintain some XVIth century houses, the Romanesque church of Santa María with its majestic tower and the castle-fortress.

About 27 km away from Aínsa towards Bielsa is the right turn that will take you to Chistau or Gistaín Valley; villages like Saravillo, Plan, San Juan de Plan ... all set in remote mountain places, will let walkers wander around their cobblestone streets.
From here you can also access Posets-Maladeta Natural Park, with multiple excursions to choose from that will take you to many glaciers, lakes and waterfalls. |

From Salinas you can get to our neighbouring country, France, through the Aragnouet-Bielsa tunnel and visit many beautiful Pyrenean villages found on the other side of the Pyrenees.
Those who love winter sports can go alpine skiing to the nearby ski resorts of Piau-Engaly and Saint-Lary Soulan. |
